Brett Favre's Saga Finally Ends

Are you tired of hearing about Brett Favre's comeback after hearing about it almost on a daily basis for the last couple of months?  Or, were you glued to the tube, Internet, and newspapers just itching to get more information about what was going to happen to Favre.

Speculations galore were flying everywhere.  Rumors were that he was going to compete against Aaron Rodgers for the starting job.  People had him set in a purple uniform going to the Minnesota Vikings.  Actually, since we are in Minnesota, we were also kinda of dreaming about Favre in purple and beating up his former team twice a year.  Would have been odd though to have him play against the Packers on the night that they retire his uniform.

Well, none of that is going to happen as Brett Favre has been traded to the New York Jets.  The Jets?  Yep, that's right, the New York Jets.

There won't be much of a quarterback controversy once he arrives because the Jets have already released Chad Pennington

As part of the trade, there was one condition that has made a lot of people laugh.  If the Jets trade Favre to the Minnesota Vikings, the Green Bay Packers will receive three first round picks.  I guess the Packers do not want to face Favre again in the regular seaon.  If Favre stayed at the Jets for the next several years, he would not face the Packers until 2012.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of sports memorabilia debuting soon with Brett Favre as a New York Jets.  The Jets have already started selling his #4 jersey in green.  Favre's Green Bay Packers sports memorabilia is still in limited supply.

Brett Favre Has Returned

It has been a while since we have posted any articles or commentary on this site.  We have been somewhat busy with adding great new products to our website for your enjoyment.

The last time we posted, we said farewell the Quarterback Brett Favre.  We were sad to see Favre leave the game of football after so many years, but anxious to see Aaron Rodgers take the helm of the Green Bay Packers.

Well, that was back in March.  That was a long time ago, but it seems like yesterday.
Who would have guessed, that our next entry would be to welcome Brett Favre back?  That's right, as everyone knows by now, Favre has returned.  It has basically been the top story now for the last couple of weeks.  Almost to the point that it is getting annoying.

It seems that it is still up in the air however.  Some reports are indicating that Brett Favre will be competing for the starting quarterback job.  Other reports are indicating that the Green Bay Packers contacted the Minnesota Vikings last Friday to talk about a trade.  This is after the Packers were upset that the Vikings allegedly were talking to Favre on his team issued cell phone.
Wow!

Either way, the sega will continue.  First of all, how do you think Aaron Rodgers feels now after thinking he was going to be the man in Green Bay.  Now he has to compete with the old man who is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.  I bet he is just livid!

And if Favre does get traded, it will be the wierdest feeling ever to see him in a different color uniform after all those years.  Especially in Vikings purple.  I think Tarvaris Jackson better watch his back.  TJack just might be out of a job - at least for a year.  As of right now, TJack is probably the Vikes weakest link.  They beefed up both the offense and defense in the off-season.  With the right quarterback in there, they might just contend for a playoff spot and might just make it a couple of rounds.

I'm sure everyone will continue to watch the newswire and see what happens to Favre.  Whatever happens, he better hope he can put up some good numbers because he did leave pretty much at the top - would hate for him to leave the second time on the bottom.

Good luck to you Favre!

Don't forget, AAA Sports Memorabilia still carries the greatest sports memorabilia on the Internet.  If you don't find what you are looking for, let us know, as we probably still have it in stock.

Farewell to Brett Favre

After playing for more than 16 seasons, Green Bay Packers' Brett Favre is hanging up his helmet. It is official this time and no more waiting on whether or not he will return for another spectacular season.

Favre made his first appearance on September 27, 1992, when he played against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He won that game 17-3. Since that day, Brett Favre never missed a game including all regular season and post-season games. This tally came to 275 games in a row. A magnificent feat for anyone playing in the NFL that will probably never be broken.

Brett Favre has been the starting quarterback so long, that most people can remember what it was like to not have him. It will be wierd to see someone other then Favre take over the controls in 2008.

During this spectacular run, Brett Favre set numerous records that will undoubtedly stand for years to come. These records include touchdown passes (442), passing yards (61,655), attempts (8,758), completions (5,377), wins by a starting quarterback (160), consecutive starts by a quarterback (253 - 275 if playoff games are included), and most MVP awards (3).

It is now Aaron Rodgers turn to take the helm. It will not be the same without Favre but I'm sure we will see him around probably in the broadcasting booth. Good luck in retirement and thank you for all the great memories - good and bad.

AAA Sports Memorabilia has a great selection of Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre autographed memorabilia at great prices. Check out our website and if you don't find exactly what you want, let us know as we probably have it available.
