Plummer to Retire?

Remember when Jake "The Snake" Plummer was the Broncos' next quarterback of the future when they received him from the Arizona Cardinals? What has happened to him and his career?

Plummer lost his starting job in 2006 to rookie Jay Cutler. This was after Plummer led the Denver Broncos to the AFC Championship game in 2005 and was selected to the Pro Bowl the same year. Now, the Broncos are apparantly wanting to trade Plummer to the Buccaneers. Supposedly the teams have reached an agreement to trade Plummer in exchange for a middle-round draft pick. Plummer has three years left on his contract and is due $5.3 million for the 2007 season. Plummer is reportedly not willing to go to Tampa Bay and is contemplating retiring.
