Steelers Ben Roethlisberger Receives Warm Welcome

Even after this years off-field turmoils, the Pittsburgh Steelers' fans greeted their quarterback warmly at this weekend's football practice. Ben Roethlisberger stated he was very worried that he would be booed by the majority of the fans that once embraced him. He stated he could not recall being so nervous and apprehensive.

Instead of being confronted by angry fans because of his behavior and upcoming six-game suspension, Roethlisberger was greeted by cheering fans (estimated attendance was 10,000) wearing his number 7 jersey and knocking over temporary security fences in attempts to obtain his signature.

After practice, Roethlisberger noticed an 8-year-old boy being shoved aside while adults were trying to get his attention for autographs. Roethlisberger removed one of his practice shoes, signed it, and gave it to the young man. He later removed his other shoe and did the same. Big Ben autographed items for Steelers fans for a half-hour.
